DESCRIPTION: Up to 8mm in length. A variable but quite attractive Mirid Bug with the females usually yellow and green in colour with a yellowish-green head. Males tend to be darker, usually black and red. Both sexes bear two central and lateral spots on the thorax (paler in males). Males also have a red cuneus whereas that of the female is green. Both sexes have darkish wing membranes with reddish wing veins. DISTRIBUTION: A newish arrival in Southern Britain but spreading northwards with records as far north as southern Scotland. HABITAT: Various areas of lush growth where the foodplants of St John's Wort and Raspberry Sage are found but this species is becoming more polyphagous and spreading rapidly. PERIOD: May to July but can be seen earlier in mild years.
